NEW FORMAT FOR MEN'S WINTER LEAGUE 2009/2010

Winter league this year will begin on the weekend of the 19^th-22^nd of November. The format has been changed. As well as four singles weekends we will now also have two fourball weekends. The singles will be the same as in previous years where the best four scores from the six cards each weekend will count for the team score. For the fourball weekends each team will divide into three fourball pairings and the two best fourball cards will count for the team score that weekend.

The overall total score for each team at the end of the six weekends will be made up of the best three weekend singles team score and one weekend fourball team score.

It is planned (weather allowing) to have the single competitions played on the 1^st, 3^rd, 4^th, and 6^th weekends, the fourball weekends will be the 2^nd, and 5^{th. Weekends.}

It is hoped to have played four weekends of the winter league played before the Christmas break. The final of the winter league will be a singles competition in the same format as previous years.

14 HOLE COURSES

The 2^nd 3^rd and 4^th holes will be not be used this winter due to course development in that area.

There will be two 14 hole courses used for the winter. Index’s have been adjusted as previous years and we're using old hole numbers to describe order of play.

Course A (Yellow card)

This course will begin on the 1^st and then in order of play use

5^{th (}skip 6^th) 7^th 8^th 9^th 10^th 11^th 12^th 13^th 14^th 15^th 16^th 17^th and finish on 18^th.

Course B (Green card)

This course will begin on the Par 3 6^th and then in order of play use 7^th 8^th 9^th 10^th 11^th 12^th  13^th  then play the two new holes, resume on the 14^th (skip 15^th) 16^th 17^th and finish on the 18^th.

 President Christine Kirk had a memorable Presidents Prize weekend as the first President who happens to be a lady of Kinsale Golf Club! See the photos of all the prize winners in the photo section.

 The Kinsale Golf Club team emerged victorious in the recent Michael Minihan Shield held in Farrangalway bringing a pennant to the club for the 1st time in many years-See photo in the photo section of the winning team guided by Captain John O'Connell and his playing team mangers and coached by our PGA Professional Ger Broderick

 Captain John O'Connell had a very successful Captain's Prize over the weekend, with Ivan Ryan(12) scooping the top prize with a magnificent 66 Nett-See the prizegiving photos in the photo section

 Lady Captain Mrs Evelyn Lambe enjoyed a successful weekend for her Captain's Prize to the men-with Padraig O'Keeffe scooping the top prize with a magnificent 42pts-see the prize presentation photos in the photo section

The online booking system is now open Monday to Friday for golf bookings.

480 trees sponsored by club members John & Theresa O'Brien have been planted in the new lands.

 The new practise facility was offically opened by our President Mr.Ger Hayes for his President's Prize 29th/30th Aug 2009.

The practise facility will be open 7 days a week.

Planning permission has been received to construct 6 covered practice bays, work will commence within the next few weeks.
